Simon Yeung International Design Limited has evolved in pursuit of a desire to provide upmarket professional interior design services since Dr. Simon Yeung founded our company which was formerly known as Simon Yeung & Associates Interior Designers in 1983.

Since then, we have never settled for anything less than a high degree of integrity and professionalism in all our services. Since the early eighties’ of the last century, we have also been retained from time to time for different types of project such as commercial (with shopping malls) and residential complexes, hotels and resorts, industrial parks, hospital and health care centres, other institutional and public spaces in Mainland China.

As a result, Simon Yeung Design (Shanghai) Limited 楊惠文建築設計顧問(上海)有限公司 was set up in 2008 as part of our strategic growth to become a multi-disciplinary consultant providing not only interior design services, but also related architectural, landscape, lighting design and project development consultancy services to meet our clients’ needs in the fast-moving world nowadays.

Dr. Simon Yeung is a Chartered Designer and the Managing Director of Simon Yeung International Design Limited, a professional design firm (established since 1983) providing upmarket architectural, interior and lighting design consultancy services to local, mainland and overseas clients. He heads also the Simon Yeung Design (Shanghai) Limited, a task force with an aim to enhance the service and business in the Mainland.

He graduated from the Leeds Polytechnic of the United Kingdom in 1981 with a degree of Bachelor of Arts (First-class Honors) in Design. He holds a Ph.D in Business Administration of which Environmental Reporting & Corporate Sustainability is the major subject of research. He is a Fellow of the Royal Society for the encouragement of Arts, manufacture and commerce since 1982 as well as a Fellow of the Chartered Society of Designers and a member of the Society of Construction Law of Hong Kong. He was the Chairman of the Chartered Society of Designers Hong Kong. From time to time since 1978, he has been engaged extensively while being in private practice to work on PRC and overseas projects which were mainly of architectural, interior and lighting design for projects like hotel, resort, department store, shopping centre, residential, industrial and office complex. As an experienced design consultant, he has been taking up the role of leading professional and offers comprehensive project management service as well as costing service to projects of various size and scale. As a member of the Society of Construction Law, Hong Kong, he serves as an expert witness in the matters of dispute and arbitration. He was also a panel member of Course Validation Committee Member of IVE, Academic Assessor of the HKU SPACE and the appointed expert representing Hong Kong PRC in the panel of Architectural and Environmental Design of the ICSID.

He geared his business into the international market and has maintained good linkage and relationship with design organizations of the world. Because of his steadfastness in integrity and professionalism, he has earned unparalleled respect from his field. He has received numerous design awards and became a listed member of the Baron’s Who’s Who in Interior Design since 1990 (inclusion in which is limited to those individuals who have demonstrated outstanding professional achievement, superior leadership and exceptional service in the field of Interior Design). In recognizing his services and contribution to the society, he was listed later in the Who’s Who of the World and conferred the Honorary Doctorate of Humane Letters by the University of Northern Virginia.

Dr. Simon Yeung strongly believe that trust, esteem and recognition can only be earned through dedicated service of the professional designer. We need to design for the real world. By serving his clients professionally with the best and most suitable design solutions, he should be able to create a pleasant, healthy and enjoyable living and working environment pertaining to clients’ requirements. He should be resourceful and always keep himself updated of the market trend as well as the current changes and most importantly, endeavour to serve wholeheartedly with due care and seriousness in order that the job can be completed in a timely manner. This principle has driven us to place much emphasis on the uniqueness, professionalism, integrity as well as competence of our team whose members should regard the design quality and standard are of equal importance while serving the client, regardless of the size of project.

Despite the potential of expanding our business horizon, we chose to exercise appropriate control over the development speed and sizes. While taking initiative to select the right clientele and to control the number of jobs, we have to ensure that each individual job will be served and attended sufficiently by a strong and competent professional team. Nonetheless appropriate time should also be allowed for Dr. Yeung to get involved, give advice and direction, propose and approve design as well.
